Do you think you can recognize a great social media post, blog post, email, or sales content? 

How about the bad ones? Do you instinctively know when there is duplicity behind the words even if you can’t quite put your finger on what it is?

The truth is we have an innate ability to tune into the energy of words whether we realize it or not.

And it’s this hidden skill that helps us recognize good vs bad writing, content, or copy.

Bad content = misaligned energy + little or no structured writing

Great content = aligned energy + beautiful, supportive structured writing

Let me break this formula down into the 2 invisible elements you need to know:

INVISIBLE ELEMENT #1 ENERGY

Aligned energy is honest. You are speaking or writing your truth. You feel expanded and open about the words you write. It feels true and right and real.

Misaligned energy happens when your words don’t feel true even to you. This usually happens if you feel like you need to stick to copy templates or follow teachers who offer regimented instruction on a specific writing style.

For instance, charming, self-deprecating humor may work for some but if that’s not who you are in the real world, it will show through as “false” in your copy.

You’ll shine when you trust yourself and begin to channel your own unique blend of confidence, ideas, and insights in your unique style.

INVISIBLE ELEMENT #2 STRUCTURE

The first rule of ALL writing is to be understood. 

And it is THE elemental function of writing copy and content for your business. 

A little tip on structure…

Your copy and content must  answer these 4 questions in this order:

(i)           What — what do you want your readers to do?

(ii)          Why — why should they listen to you/ why is this important?

(iii)         How should they proceed or what are the steps, instructions that they need to perform? 

(iv)         What next — what do you want them to do next (traditionally known as the Call to  Action or CTA)?

Be warned: this might seem simple but it’s not easy 🙂

But in time and with practice you can master these 2 elements.

When you do, you can look forward to connecting with ideal clients, customers, and followers and start seeing a significant increase in engagement, loves, likes, and eventually sales in your business.

The best part? It will all happen in a way that feels good, aligned, and true to you 🙂
