When Worry Meets Wonder: A Manifesting Survival Guide

My Mom’s been under the weather lately, and watching someone you love struggle with their health creates this heavy, persistent ache in your chest that seems to follow you everywhere.

At the same time, it’s my husband Julian’s birthday this week, and I want to celebrate him properly — to bring joy and lightness and all the love he deserves.

2 completely different energies. 2 completely valid experiences.

And there I was, trying to figure out how to hold space for both without completely depleting my own energy reserves.

You know that feeling when life hands you worry and wonder at the same time? When you’re supposed to toggle between genuine concern and genuine celebration, sometimes within the same hour?

Part of me wanted to completely sink into the worry about Mom. Another part felt like I should put on a bright smile and focus entirely on making Julian’s birthday special. Neither felt right.

It took me a few days of feeling stuck before I remembered: I actually know how to handle this with Vibrational Hygiene.

It’s like having an energetic shower between different parts of your day.

Just as we wouldn’t dream of skipping our physical hygiene, we need intentional practices to cleanse our energetic field — especially when we’re moving between heavy and light, worry and joy, caring and celebrating.

Here’s how it’s looked in the real world:

🩷 After visiting Mom: I practice my 1 Healing Breath, breathing in calm or peace and imagining all the worry and sadness flowing out on my exhale. I don’t try to stop caring — I just release what isn’t mine to carry.

🩵 When I shift to planning Julian’s special day: I take another intentional breath and visualize stepping through an energetic doorway — leaving the energy behind and consciously choosing to enter celebration mode. I can feel my body soften and my heart open to joy.

💚 When the energies want to blur together: I remind myself that I can love my Mum AND celebrate my husband. I can hold worry AND hold joy. 

The real magic happens when we learn to transition gracefully between emotional states, without denying what we truly feel and also without losing ourselves in the process — we don’t have to try and choose one feeling over another.

Sometimes Vibrational Hygiene looks like giving yourself permission to feel multiple things at once. Sometimes it looks like consciously shifting your energy to watch or observe and match what the moment requires.

We’re not meant to be emotionally one-dimensional. Life is asking us to do something much more beautiful: maintain our center while honoring the full spectrum of the human experience.

This is where manifesting gets really interesting. The more we can welcome our emotional complexity without judgment, the clearer our manifesting signal becomes. We stop sending mixed messages to the Universe and start manifesting from wholeness.
