Joyful Play: The Powerful Manifesting Ingredient Almost Everyone Overlooks
Last week I was staring down an inbox situation — that is to say that I had (literally!) thousands of emails to sort, categorize, save and delete.
So I used my favorite trick when it comes to getting through the task. First, I set a timer for 30 minutes.
Then I put on the legendary John Williams’ theme from the Indiana Jones movies (the Raiders March) on repeat ’till the timer rang ⏰
And magic happened like it always does… I flew through those emails like I was defusing a bomb in an action movie 😅
In fact, I finished a full 5 minutes before the timer ran out and rewarded myself with a full episode of Young Sheldon (which I LOVE)
Here’s why I’m telling you this (and it goes so much deeper than a productivity hack)…
I wrote a whole chapter in Manifest Anything You Want about joyful play, and it’s one of my favorite things to share about manifesting because almost no one sees it.
We tend to treat manifesting as serious business with all the journaling, scripting, visualizing and whatnot!
Meanwhile, the Universe loves to PLAY 🥰
When you’re having fun – lost-track-of-time fun – your vibration rises all on its own.
You don’t need a single affirmation or a 45-minute visualization session to get there.
Joyful play tells the Universe you’re ready to receive with ease… and joyful energy calls in more things to be joyful about ✨
It’s why some of your best manifestations probably showed up when you weren’t “working on” manifesting at all.
You were laughing with a friend, or dancing in your kitchen, and your energy was so open and delighted that your desires came rushing in to join the party!
So here’s what I invite you to try this week… it’s one of my favorite manifesting practices from the book and it has a dash of fun thrown in (plus you get to complete tasks you’ve been putting off!)
Pick the boring task you’ve been avoiding (you know the one 😉) and turn it into a game.
Set a timer and see if you can beat it, or promise yourself a delicious bonus for the finish line (a bubble bath and a playlist you love totally count!).
While you play, I want you to notice what happens to your mood and your energy.
That lightness you feel? That’s your vibration rising in real time, and it’s the exact energy the Universe loves best!
So how about you? What’s the most boring, mundane task on your list right now and how could you turn it into a game this week?
