What’s the very first thing that goes through your mind when money comes into your account? 

Imagine this…a client payment notification pops up on your phone, and before you’ve even finished reading the amount, you’re already doing the math… 

“Okay, that covers the electricity bill, and whatever’s left can go toward the credit card.”

The money’s barely in your account and you’ve already given all of it away (in your head, at least!) 😅

This habit is so small and it happens so quickly that most of us never notice we’re doing it (and it looks a lot like you’re just being sensible!).

But it’s a tiny habit that has a big ripple effect. The money came in, and you never let yourself receive it.

The Universe loves to give, and it’s always watching for open arms 🤗

When every incoming payment instantly gets mentally spent, the message behind it is “Money passes through my hands and never remains.” 😬

The Universe hears that loud and clear and happily gives you more of the same… money that comes in and goes straight back out.

My favorite fix comes straight from my book, Manifest Anything You Want – a practice called Radical Receiving. 

I’ve adapted it here as a Receiving Pause that takes just a few seconds.

The next time money comes in (any amount, even a $3 cashback!), pause. 

Place your hands over your heart and take 1 Healing Breath of Abundance (see below on how to do this).

Then say, out loud or in your head: “Thank you! I receive this with joy.” 🎉

Let the money be completely yours even if it’s just for a few seconds. Feel what it’s like to simply have it.

Then go ahead and pay the electricity bill (and send that money off with a thank-you too, while you’re at it 💖).

The money will go wherever it was always going. The difference is how you welcomed it in, and the Universe can’t wait to send more to someone who receives joyfully 🎉

So here’s my invitation for the week ahead… Every time money comes in this week, give it the Receiving Pause before you put it to work.

You’re telling the Universe, “I love receiving, and I’m ready for more.”
